Misbah Kamal learnt the principles of insurance in Baghdad when he started working for the National Insurance Company (1968). He holds first and postgraduate degrees from British universities (1967 ; 1978). He worked for a London-based international insurance broking house and retired in 2016. He has co-authored Arabic translations of insurance books and published three books: The Institute of Insurance, Papers on the History of Insurance in Iraq, The Insurance Business Regulation Law 2005: Critical Studies. He has also published many electronic books on insurance available at Academia.edu and the economics library of the Iraqi Economists Network.
